TAKE THE TOURThe First KingdomThe First Kingdom
Old money, old families, old traditions. The First Kingdom, ruled by the bicentennial Queen Cinderella, is a place of whirlwind romance and startling divorce rates. Because of this, wicked stepmothers and stepsisters abound. The Kingdom’s heraldic color is pale blue, and the inhabitants hold on to the old ways of fairytale life more strictly than those of other, more progressive Kingdoms.

The Second KingdomThe Second Kingdom - House of Red
Although Queen Riding Hood III claims sole sovereignty of the Second Kingdom, her rule has been beset by internal strife, both between humans and wolves and between those who follow the House of Red and those who support Gretel the Great in the south. This conflict has decimated the male population - there are many orphans and widowed grandmothers in the land.
This kingdom’s heraldic color is brown, and its wolf and human inhabitants live in constant conflict, at least under the House of Red. Full moons are marked by paranoia, acts of violence against wolves, and martial law.

The Third KingdomThe Third Kingdom
The Third Kingdom is currently ruled by the Troll Nation, under their leader, Relish the Troll King. The kingdom’s heraldic color is yellow.
Once a thriving agrarian region home to Jack, Giantkiller and first mayor of Beantown, the area is now a wasteland. Overgrowth of beanstalks has stripped the land of nutrients, leaving only barren fields - more cynical residents of the Ten Kingdoms suspect that its lack of worth is the reason the land was given to the trolls in the first place.

The Fourth KingdomThe Fourth Kingdom
The Fourth Kingdom is a large territory located at the center of the Nine Kingdoms. It is ruled by the House of White, and its heraldic color is green. The Fourth Kingdom saw its Golden Age during the reign of Queen Snow White, one of the Five Women Who Changed History. The kingdom is now ruled by the regents of Prince Wendell Winston Walter White, grandson of the great queen. The young prince is due to be crowned king on his 21st birthday, but many in the kingdom wonder if he can live up to the legacy of his grandmother.
The past few decades have not been peaceful for the House of White. During the Prince’s childhood, his stepmother - secretly an acolyte of the old Evil Queen - murdered his parents and attempted to kill him as well. Although imprisoned in the Snow White Memorial Prison, this new Evil Queen is no less a threat. In addition, the kingdom’s central location makes its border villages prime targets for raids, particularly by the Troll Nation.
The Fourth Kingdom is a thriving nation, with a strong and varied economy. A thriving wool industry - centered in Little Lamb Village - has made Fourth Kingdom textiles sought all over the Nine Kingdoms (with the exception of the Naked Emperor’s Court, for obvious reasons). Commercial centers include Kissing Town, a tourist attraction throughout the Kingdoms.

The Fifth KingdomThe Fifth Kingdom
The Sixth Naked Emperor rules over the Fifth Kingdom, a large territory where pleasure-seeking is the predominant philosophy. Led by a corrupt, if oblivious, royal tradition, the noble classes lead lives of overindulgence and at least partial nudity. The kingdom’s heraldic color is a rich purple, emphasizing the importance of luxury to this dynasty.
Due to the example set by the Naked Emperor and his predecessors, the people of this kingdom are quickly caught up in new fads and fashions. Ostentatious displays of wealth are expected among the upper classes. The kingdom is known for its beer and sausage festivals, as well as for its tailors, who are among the richest citizens, despite the fact that no one ever sees them working.

The Sixth KingdomThe Sixth Kingdom
The Sixth Kingdom, whose regal color is a beautiful pale pink, is the sleeping jewel of the Nine Kingdoms. The kingdom was founded by Queen Rapunzel, who - after her rescue from the tower - became one of the Five Women Who Changed History. Once home to a thriving textile industry and sea trade, the Sixth Kingdom was known for its delicate architecture and beautiful countrysides.
However, tragedy struck the kingdom when the Queen’s daughter, Aurora, was cursed by a vengeful fairy. Pricking her finger on a spindle, she fell into an enchanted sleep, along with the rest of the kingdom. A century later, the Sixth Kingdom is a silent monument to the Golden Age of Happily Ever After, as the Princess dreams of the one who will break the spell.

The Seventh KingdomThe Seventh Kingdom
The Seventh Kingdom, ruled by Olaf the Elf-King and his Queen, Leaf-fall, is the realm of the Fair Folk. Although it is placed on the map between the Fourth, Eighth, and Fifth Kingdoms, eager travelers should note that the Kingdom is only visible to mortal eyes at dawn and dusk. In addition, they should be very cautious about journeying to the Seventh Kingdom, as many mortals who venture across the enchanted lakes of the Fair Folk never return - at least in their original forms. The Fair Folk refuse to choose one heraldic color, instead using all the colors of the rainbow.
Most Fair Folk take the form of winged humans, but this too is an illusion, as they are able to manipulate the senses of mortals to make them see what the fairy would will them to. However, when they are in human form, they are as vulnerable as a human is. The Fair Folk are neither wholly “good” or “evil,” at least in mortal terms; they are largely indifferent to the human concept of morality. Instead, they are often tricksters, using their gifts to bestow both boons and curses as they see fit.

The Eighth KingdomThe Eighth Kingdom
The Eighth Kingdom is an icy landscape to the far North of the Fourth Kingdom. The kingdom’s population consists of scattered fishing villages. The inhabitants are typically unfriendly and highly superstitious. Their heraldic color is white, which is appropriate since most of the kingdom itself is white, submerged in eternal winter by the Snow Queen’s magic.
The Snow Queen herself rarely emerges from her stronghold, the Ice Palace, and when she does, it is never for diplomatic purposes. Driven by her magic, which has taken root in her frozen heart, she desires nothing less than total domination of the other eight kingdoms. Although her kingdom’s population does not yield fighting men in large numbers, it is rumored that she has other soldiers at her command - the inhuman kind. She largely ignores the conflicts and intrigues of her southern neighbors, and keeps her borders closed.
The Eighth Kingdom is a constant threat to the peace of the Nine Kingdoms, but over the last few decades, the leaders of those nations have begun to forget about the Snow Queen’s power, and she has faded into the realm of bogeymen. Parents tell their naughty children to behave, or “the Snow Queen will take you away.” Little do they know how true this bedtime story is.

The Ninth KingdomThe Ninth Kingdom
Strictly speaking, the Ninth Kingdom isn’t actually a kingdom. The Dwarf Union objects strenuously to the application of a monarchical term to what they describe as “an autonomous collective.” Residents of the other nine realms usually ignore this distinction. In any case, the Dwarf Union’s official color is red, and their nation is led by a Senior Comrade, duly elected by the entire nation.
The Ninth Kingdom is a series of mines, tunnels, and underground cities that span the entirety of the Nine Kingdoms. There are a number of entrances to the realm, such as the one in Dragon Mountain in the Fourth Kingdom. The Dwarf Union maintains one aboveground holding - a small town located between the Fourth and Fifth Kingdoms. The Dwarf Union primarily deals in mining and metalwork. They alone possess the skill to create magic mirrors out of quicksilver, and so these secrets are highly prized. Outsiders are not welcome in the Ninth Kingdom, aside from doing business aboveground. In addition, dwarfs who are considered unfit for productive work are expelled for the good of the community.
The Dwarf Union’s sole exception to their tradition of isolationism is a tenuous alliance with the Fourth Kingdom, due to their great loyalty to Queen Snow White. The Queen herself is entombed in a mausoleum of ice, located in the Ninth Kingdom near Snow White Falls.

The Tenth KingdomThe Tenth Kingdom
Very little is known about the mysterious Tenth Kingdom. It can only be accessed via a magic travelling mirror, and only five residents of the Nine Kingdoms have ever journeyed there. It is unknown who rules the land, what its primary industry is, or even what the people call themselves. However, what is known is extraordinary. It is a land of great magic: even the humblest of residents have access to carriages that pull themselves, magical boxes that tell the weather so they never have to step outside, and chests that spew food and drink.
The land was claimed in the name of the Troll Nation by Burly, Blabberwort, and Bluebell, children of Relish, the Troll King. However, this claim was made prematurely and without witnesses; the Council of the Nine Kingdoms has not yet verified the Third Kingdom’s right to the land. In any case, as the Third Kingdom possesses no travelling mirror - and lacks the skill to craft one - the Trolls will likely be forced to drop any claim to the Tenth Kingdom.
Notable residents of the Tenth Kingdom include Tony and Virginia Lewis, though it is unknown what rank they possess in their homeland, or what ancestral property they own. If the Tenth Kingdom has an official regal color, it is not known; however, with few exceptions, the kingdom appears to be overwhelmingly grey, possibly indicating a royal preference for the shade.
